The Scottish referendum has been {ronburgundyvoice} kind of a big deal {\ronburgundyvoice} in this house. We live in Kent and I am Sarf Lahndan born, but my dear husband is a fierce, proud, and born and bred Scotsman (“pure Scotch beef” as he would say….).
We lived there together for nearly four years, and it is a place very close to my heart. The result may not have gone the way half of my friends and family may have wanted, but it was great to see so many people politically engaged – at the risk of sounding patronising, it made me proud to have links with Scotland.
So today I wanted to honour a Scottish brand. I came across Abandon Ship a while ago, but came to my attention again when they recently won Retailer of the Year at the Scottish Fashion awards. They started out in a flat in Dennistoun in Glasgow (which is another reason that I wanted to feature them, as that’s where my husband and I first shared a flat ❤️) and now have a shop in the centre of Glasgow, and also in London. They’re also stocked on ASOS.
They do clean, simple but bold designs on t shirts, trousers, leggings and sweaters. They’re so different and all unisex, and there’s just something about them that I love. I can’t wait to see what they do in the future, I think it’s a really exciting time for the brand.
Here are my favourite items for kids from their site:
What do you think? Pretty cool, eh? I think Coco would love the kitten trousers, whereas Otis would just look The Dogs in all of it.
Have an awesome weekend everyone,
Lucy x
